Chris Reed, blogging at the San Diego Union-Tribune, points out a story about eminent domain abuse in San Francisco, and concludes, "Every time you hear a redevelopment official say California law protects against abuses of eminent domain, feel free to laugh so hard your ribs ache. That is a complete myth. "Blight" is a legal chimera." Quite true—and San Diegans, of all people, should know it. San Diego is one of the worst abusers of eminent domain in California.
