You: An experienced, creative, and entrepreneurial event organizer. You’re passionate about PLF’s mission and values, and eager to put your project management skills to work developing unique programming that defines our next generation public interest law firm. You’re not content with maintaining the status quo and have big ideas about how to engage our audiences with both in-person and virtual programming.
Them: Bureaucrats, city councils, mayors, governors, and federal agencies stripping Americans of their rights every day. There’s a lot of government overreach out there, and it’s backed by seemingly endless resources. But fortunately, like all lumbering giants, abusive government is most vulnerable when countered by individuals who act strategically and nimbly, take calculated risks, have each other’s backs, and are confident in and passionate for the cause—the very sort of swashbucklers we employ in spades here at PLF.

Here’s what you get to do in this role:
You’ll be designing creative experiences that increase the impact of PLF’s work and, in collaboration with the Outreach Director, overseeing a comprehensive events strategy that advances PLF’s legal, public education, and legislative goals. This includes both in-person and virtual programming ranging from hour long webinars to multi-day conferences and seminars.
You’ll work across the company to identify and capitalize on opportunities for PLF to advance the national conversation on our areas of expertise. In essence, you’re responsible for making sure that we’re in “the room where it happens.” whether that’s a room you or someone else creates.
You’ll also be responsible for handling all program related logistics, managing event budgets, and evaluating event success, measured by progress towards organizational goals.

This role is ideal for someone with at least 3 years of experience in program development, events strategy, and/or project management. Some knowledge of legal issues and contemporary policy discussions isn’t required, though it’s certainly a plus. But ability to work under tight deadlines, juggle multiple stakeholders, and maintain impeccable attention to detail are all a must. As a national nonprofit organization, PLF has brick-and-mortar offices in Sacramento, CA; Arlington, VA; Seattle, WA, and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, though approximately half of the staff work from home across the country. You can work physically in any of our offices or request to work virtually.
