Earlier this month, K. Lloyd Billingsley of the Pacific Research Institute wrote a scathing opinion editorial on the California Coastal Commission.  He asks the question many California taxpayers have on their minds:  Given the State's financial woes, why is the Coastal Commission not among the dozens of panels and commissions that Governor Brown has proposed to eliminate?  Indeed, as we reported in February, Governor Brown's 2011-2012 budget proposal actually calls for more funds to be given to the Commission.
