Joan May is running for the San Miguel County (CO) Commission. She seems to be just a bit confused about a few aspects of eminent domain:
"[The city of] Telluride is exercising its constitutional right of eminent domain to purchase–not take–at fair market price, the land known as the Valley Floor, from an unwilling seller."
What she's more lucid on is the revenge she'll exact if she doesn't get her way:
"If Telluride is unsuccessful in completing this effort for any reason, I, as county commissioner, will hold the land owner to the strictest environmental protection of the land. You can count on that."
Threats against law-abiding citizens–always a nice campaign platform.
