Is politicized science being used to shut off water to California's Central Valley farmers?

PLF Consultant and former environmental attorney Anne Hayes was interviewed by host Rob Johnson of KMPH 840AM about the recent resignations of Drs. Glibert and McGuire from the Committee on Sustainable Water and Environmental Management for the Bay-Delta.  Dr. McGuire's resignation letter makes it clear that these two were essentially forced off of the committee for strongly urging the Committee to take a more comprehensive look at the factors affecting delta smelt populations.  In particular, he stressed that there exists "strong evidence" that ammonium discharges from water treatment plants have an "overwhelming" impact on delta smelt decline.  What his letter implies quite clearly is that the Committee had already made up its mind to blame water flows to farmers, and was not open to any other evidence.
