Klamath River Movie

In the late 90s and early 2000s, there was considerable political and legal controversy over the US Bureau of Reclamation's operation of the Klamath Irrigation Project (located in Northern California and Southern Oregon).  The central legal issue of the dispute was whether the Project's operation would jeopardize the continued existence of ESA-protected populations of Coho salmon.  The district court said yes, and that decision was affirmed by the Ninth Circuit in Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's Associations v. United States Bureau of Reclamation.  A new documentary on the Klamath, entitled River of Renewal, has just been released.
