LA County frisbee ban? Not exactly

February 14, 2012 | By JOSHUA THOMPSON

Two weeks ago, it was widely reported that Los Angeles County had enacted a ban on tossing a frisbee and having a catch.  (PLF wasn’t immune from grasping on to the story.)  Turns out, it was just sloppy reporting, the county actualy made it easier to enjoy those recreational activities on the beach.

However, as reported by PLF (we actually looked at the ordinance), the county still prohibits digging a hole deeper than 18 inches, still prohibits bad language, and still contains a general prohibition on having a catch (except in the winter or in designated areas).  I think it’s fair to say that Los Angeles County has a long way to go before they pat themselves on the back for easing up on the regulations.
