Species, species everywhere

Here's an interesting oped by Andy Caldwell, radio personality and executive director of the Coalition for Labor, Agriculture, and Business.  Andy makes a great point about how the Endangered Species Act was never intended to allow the government to cherrypick small populations of species and list those populations as endangered or threatened, where the species is doing well in other parts of its range.  PLF has made similar arguments in several cases, including Trout Unlimited v. Lohn and California Forestry Association v. California Fish & Game Commission.
