On Dupes

Riviera Beach (Fla.) Mayor Michael Brown is not happy about his state's adoption of a constitutional amendment restricting eminent domain abuse of the type he's still trying to author:

"One day in the near future, Floridians are going to wake up and realize they have been duped," said Michael Brown . . . "Local governments were finally trying to use eminent domain the way it was supposed to be used," Brown said.  "Now the politicians have pulled the rug out from under them."

Floridians already have woken up, with nearly seventy percent of those who voted–that's three million people–approving the amendment last Tuesday.  They're not politicians.  And they certainly aren't dupes.
