On San Diego radio (KOGO) tonight: PLF’s Prop. 209 win over San Francisco

August 03, 2010 | By PACIFIC LEGAL FOUNDATION

PLF Principal Attorney Sharon Browne will be interviewed tonight at 7:04 p.m. (PDT), on KOGO am 600, San Diego.

Sharon and host Chris Reed will discuss PLF's victory yesterday at the California Supreme Court in Coral Construction Company v. City and County of San Francisco.

In that case, PLF is challenging San Francisco's ordinance that prescribes race- and sex- based preferences in public contracting.    Yesterday, siding with PLF, the state Supreme Court rejected San Francisco's legal attack on Proposition 209, the California Constitution's ban on race- and sex-based discrimination and preferences in public contracting, employment and education.

This was also a victory for PLF over California Attorney General Jerry Brown's legal arguments against Prop. 209.

Listen, tonight, to  Sharon Browne describe the Supreme Court's decision and our next steps to force San Francisco to obey the Constitution and basic principles of equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunities.
