While all the legislative activity to mitigate the effects of Kelo is worth commending, supporters of private property rights wish their efforts were unnecessary in the first place.  But, given the situation facing them just one year ago, it is appropriate to consider raising a toast to mark the state-level successes to overcome the effects of Kelo on the first anniversary of that infamous Supreme Court ruling.
