PLF Principal Attorney Sharon Browne is currently being featured on the Federalist Society's website dicussing the Supreme Court's recent decision in Northwest Austin Municipal Utility District No. 1 v. HolderNorthwest Austin was expected to be a landmark decision regarding the constitutionality of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.  However, the Court punted on that issue and decided the case on narrow grounds so as not to affect the constitutionality of the VRA.

PLF's amicus brief to the Court received nationwide attention.  In the podcast, Ms. Browne discusses both the majority opinion and Justice Thomas's dissenting opinion where he calls out the Court for failing to strike down the VRA. Ms. Browne also speculates on the potential for a future case challenging the constitutionality of the VRA.
