PLF on the road

PLF attorneys don’t just litigate–we also spread the word about economic freedom, private property rights, and limited government. Educating the public about America’s founding principles is central to our mission. That’s why I’m on the road today in Orange, California, speaking at the Institute for Humane Studies summer conference “Liberty And Society.” Of course, as an added benefit, I get to enjoy the glorious Orange County weather, and a visit to my alma mater, Chapman University.

The Institute for Humane Studies is a fantastic organization based at George Mason University in Virginia, and devoted to spreading the word about liberty to America’s college and graduate students. They host a number of free seminars every summer for college students–and these seminars feature top-quality speakers from a variety of disciplines, in law, economics, history, and philosophy. In addition, they run a prestigious fellowship program called the Koch Fellows program, which every summer selects students for internships or clerkships at thinktanks and public interest law organizations across the country. In fact, this year, PLF is hosting our second Koch Fellow, Lana Harfoush, a law student at Pepperdine University. Our previous Koch Fellow, Christina Kohn, will soon be starting work at the Goldwater Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, and our staff includes a former Koch Fellow, Joshua Thompson. IHS plays a critical role in teaching the ideas of freedom–and in preparing the next generation of freedom’s defenders. You can learn more about them at their website, TheIHS.org.
