June 14, 2010 | By PACIFIC LEGAL FOUNDATION

Staff-FieldsRichard
Fields of the Pacific Legal Foundation will speak to the Humboldt Republican
Women Federated
at the Elks Lodge, 445 Herrick Ave. Eureka at Noon on Thursday,
6/17/2010
.  He will discuss regulatory and legislative initiatives designed to
control climate by controlling carbon dioxide emissions.  Included in his
discussion will be Pacific Legal Foundation's challenge to the listing of the
polar bear on the endangered species list based on the theory that carbon
dioxide emissions cause global warming which melts polar ice allegedly
endangering polar bears.  He will also discuss PLF's petition to the
EPA
requesting a reopening of the process that led to the EPA's recent
assumption of the power to regulate carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas.  The
basis of PLF's petition is the recent Climategate scandal calling EPA scientific
assumptions into question.
