School stops student distributing constitutions on Constitution Day

Modesto Junior College prevented one of its students from passing out free copies of the Constitution to fellow students on campus.  Robert Van Tuinen caught the entire incident on camera—from a police officer telling him to stop—to his trip to a college administrator’s office.  The administrator said he could “schedule” a time to hand out constitutions (weeks in advance in a tiny designated area of campus), and then referred him to the Dean.  During the course of the video, Mr. Tuinen informs the administrator that the Constitution is the very document that protects his right to free speech on his publicly-funded campus.  His words fell on deaf ears.  The phrase “do not cast your pearls before swine” comes to mind.  Kudos to Mr. Tuinen for his bravery.  The story is here.
