We have just confirmed that Governor Schwarzenegger has vetoed a bill that would have given the California State Lands Commission more power and control over landowners. Interestingly, the Governor vetoed the bill specifically out out concern that it gives the Commission much too broad power, "and potentially raises constitutional due process concerns for private property owners."

The Governor has also vetoed a bill that would have expanded the state's eminent domain powers, and one that would have violated Propostion 209.
