The Gloucester County (N.J.) Times reports on the ways New Jersey bureaucrats are struggling to enact meaningless eminent domain reform. The bill would apparently "add[] more open notification processes and bear[] down on redevelopment designations, which are required to use eminent domain," and would "allow[] for more compensation to landowners by requiring municipalities to base offers on the future redeveloped value of the land rather than the current value." But it would do nothing to actually limit the use of eminent domain.
