The Commission and Hostels

Last month the Commission approved a CDP for the Port of San Diego to develop what used to Lane Field, today a large parking lot at the foot of Broadway in downtown San Diego.  To get approval for building several high-priced hotels, the Port had to agree to build 400 hostel rooms in the same area.  This article from the LA Times relates other instances of where the Commission has been able to get developers to build hostels for the public along the coast.
