Property Rights

Aaron Newell is an attorney in Pacific Legal Foundation’s Property Rights practice.

Prior to attending law school, Aaron worked at the Arkansas Center for Research in Economics, located at the University of Central Arkansas, doing economic research on civil asset forfeiture, occupational licensing, and government taxing and spending. While there, he participated in and led several reading groups exploring the roots of capitalism in America. This included economists such as Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman, whose work resonated with Aaron.

He graduated magna cum laude from the Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. After graduating, he worked as an attorney with the Association of Arkansas Counties and then clerked with Judge Lavenski Smith at the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Outside of work, Aaron plays golf, basketball, and softball. He’s an avid reader of sci-fi and fantasy books and loves spending time with his wife Emily, their friends and family, and their church.
