[Past Event] – PLF Heads Back to the Supreme Court: Pung v. Isabella County

Date: December 17, 2025
Location: Virtual via Zoom
Time: 3:00 p.m. EST/12:00 p.m. PST

This fall, the Supreme Court granted a case about an outrageous injustice perpetrated against a Michigan family—and Pacific Legal Foundation has joined the case as co-counsel.

On December 17, join us for an online discussion about upcoming Supreme Court case Pung v. Isabella County. Join lead counsel, Phil Ellison, as well as PLF’s Larry Salzman and Christina Martin as they go through the shocking facts of the case: how the Pung family lost their home because a tax assessor claimed they didn’t file the right paperwork; how the County wrongly evicted the family; and how the home was auctioned off in a fire sale for a fraction of its value.

PLF won a landmark victory at the Supreme Court in 2023’s Tyler v. Hennepin County, which held the government may not take more than is owed in tax foreclosures. Now, in Pung, PLF is going back to the Supreme Court to hold the government accountable.
