Britta De Groot

Annual Giving Coordinator

Born in Nebraska, and raised in the High Plains and Rocky Mountain West by a food animal veterinarian and an agricultural journalist, Britta De Groot grew up steeped in an agrarian culture, where work and virtue prevail, and where the rights of the farmers and ranchers who steward the land and feed the world must be held inviolate for the good of all. With a strong sense of justice, Britta is enthusiastic about her work at Pacific Legal Foundation and its unrelenting determination to stand on constitutional principles.

As a professional pianist, Britta has a deep appreciation for donors, because many artists are supported purely through the generosity of those who recognize the goodness and culture-shaping powers of their endeavors. In her work at PLF, Britta is focused on assuring that PLF is properly represented to donors and that PLF’s supporters know how much the organization values them.

Prior to joining PLF, Britta received her undergraduate degree in piano performance from Hillsdale College and her master’s degree in Music in Piano Performance from the University of Colorado Boulder. She spent the next few years in the arts sector performing, touring in a saxophone and piano duo, teaching, and engaging in donor relations for a private arts school.

In her off time, Britta can be found practicing piano, playing music with friends, performing, teaching piano and cello, running, hiking, or dreaming of having a bucket calf of her very own someday.
