Government cannot use permitting power to hijack property rights.

The Supreme Court has repeatedly said that the government must not force landowners to give up property rights for permit approval. And these fundamental rights don’t get less protection depending on which branch of government violates them, whether the permit rules come from a bureaucrat or a legislature.

To Our Donors

PLF first defeated government-permitting abuse at the Supreme Court in
1987, and again in 2013. Your commitment to PLF ensures that everyday Americans like George Sheetz can fight back when the government exploits legal loopholes to defy clear Supreme Court precedent. Thank you!

PLF is proud to receive a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s premier independent nonprofit evaluator. A top rating recognizes PLF’s commitment to responsible stewardship of the resources our donors generously provide.
