Knee Regulatory Research Center

We are pleased to formally invite paper submissions for a Scope of Practice Research Conference, co-sponsored by the Knee Regulatory Research Center and Pacific Legal Foundation. This conference will be held in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, on July 18–19, 2024.

Applicable Research Topics
We seek papers related to how Scope of Practice laws influence:
• Measures of cost, quality, and access to healthcare services
• Political economy in the design and enforcement of SOP laws
• Migration and mobility of healthcare providers between communities
• Community and population health outcomes
Although much SOP law research tends to be focused on healthcare, submissions covering research on
how other industries (such as construction or other non-medical services) are influenced by SOP laws are
also highly encouraged.

Honorarium, Deadlines, and Submission Details
To receive full consideration, please submit your abstract and CVs via email by February 29, 2024, to Alicia Plemmons at Alicia.Plemmons@mail.wvu.edu.

Conference acceptance will be competitive because space is limited to ensure all participants get appropriate feedback on their manuscripts. Honorariums of $1,000 will be paid to all conference participants. Lodging and meals will be provided for presenting authors.

After the conference, the participants will be given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts based on feedback during the conference. Those final revised papers will then be aimed for publication in a special topics issue of a premier peer-review journal.
