Dennis Hanson is an engineer, entrepreneur, aviator, and philanthropist with a career spanning manufacturing, agriculture, aviation, mining, and real estate. He began with his family’s engineering company, R A Hanson Co., before owning and leading several businesses, including Dye Seed Ranch, Eagle Helicopters, and Fasteners. An accomplished pilot with more than 15,000 flight hours, Dennis helped develop Spokane’s HeartFlite emergency medical aviation program. In 2021, the University of Idaho inducted him into its Academy of Engineers and awarded him an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree. Both Dennis and his wife, Norma Jean, are active philanthropists focused on education and property rights. They became involved with Pacific Legal Foundation through the Sackett case in 2011, even getting to attend the supreme court oral arguments, and remain committed PLF supporters.
