Tallahassee, FL; June 27, 2025: Yesterday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law Senate Bill 108, vital legislation that will ensure every state agency rule is reviewed and updated by the state’s elected officials.

SB 108 requires all state agencies to review all existing rules in the next 5 years, reproduce all reference material used in the review, and make it publicly available. The bill also creates timelines and tracking/reporting requirements for agencies that issue licenses. These new requirements will update old agency rules, shine a spotlight on the rulemaking process, and reduce government waste and bureaucracy.

“We applaud the work of the Florida Legislature to pass this important legislation, which will ensure that Floridians are not dealing with a cumbersome and wasteful state government,” said Jaimie Cavanaugh, legal policy counsel at Pacific Legal Foundation. “We were honored to work with the James Madison Institute to ensure Florida’s state government works for and is accountable to the people of this great state.”
