Steve Davis is a senior legal fellow in Pacific Legal Foundation’s Constitutional Scholarship Group. Steve’s work focuses on the study of property rights, the United States Constitution, and common law. Prior to joining PLF, Steve litigated property-rights cases in federal courts from inception of the case through appeal. Steve also served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri and as the Chief Clerk and Administrator of the Missouri House of Representatives.
Steve enjoys presenting and speaking at law and history seminars and is often invited to address national, regional, and local conferences, including the national ALI-CLE Eminent Domain and Land Valuation Litigation Seminar, the Missouri Bar and Judicial Conference, the Missouri Conference on History, and many continuing legal education courses. For the past six years, Steve has served as a member of the Show Me Speakers Bureau, a statewide invitation-only panel of Missouri history experts invited to speak to organizations and public meetings across the state, and which is sponsored by the Missouri Humanities Council and the State Historical Society of Missouri.
Steve is a member of the bar only in the State of Missouri and the District of Columbia.
