Chris Barnewolt is an attorney at Pacific Legal Foundation, where he works to defend and uphold the rights guaranteed to every individual by the Constitution.
After earning his B.A. in History and International Relations from the College of William and Mary, Chris moved to DC, where he earned an M.A. in international security from Georgetown University. After deciding to pursue a career in constitutional law, Chris received his J.D. from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School in 2023. As a law student, he worked as an intern with Barr & Klein PLLC, and with the Federalist Society’s Freedom of Thought Project. Other highlights from his law school days include serving on the Moot Court Board, serving as an associate editor for the Journal of Law, Economics & Policy, and participating in the school’s Free Speech Clinic, Supreme Court Clinic, and Separation of Powers Clinic. Prior to coming to PLF, Chris worked as a legal associate at the Cato Institute.
Chris is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar.
In his spare time, Chris likes to go on long walks listening to audiobooks. He is especially interested in the history of counterintelligence during the Cold War. He resides in Arlington, Virginia.
Chris is a member of the bar only in Washington, D.C.
