Your contribution gives hope to countless Americans who could not otherwise afford to stand up to bullying bureaucrats. You empower them to fight back and win, securing justice and safeguarding the liberties of every American.
PLF represents clients for free and receives no government funding. Instead, we’re funded by contributions from thousands of supporters across the country who believe in vindicating the American ideals of individualism and liberty. Every PLF donor makes an important difference in the fight to defend liberty and justice for all.

Gifts of appreciated stocks or mutual fund shares can have an immediate, favorable impact to PLF and result in an income tax deduction for you.
Also, they can be gifted to PLF without triggering capital gains taxes, so long as your broker electronically transfers them directly to PLF’s account. You want to avoid selling the assets and then making a gift of the proceeds because that will trigger a capital gains liability for you.

What are the benefits?
A simple way to support Pacific Legal Foundation and leave a legacy of liberty is through a bequest in your will or living trust.
Bequests to PLF can be expressed as a dollar amount, a percentage, or all or part of your estate.
If you are ready to include PLF in your will, you can use this language:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to Pacific Legal Foundation, 555 Capitol Mall, Suite 1290 Sacramento, CA 95814, which has a federal tax id number of 94-2197343, the sum of $______, or _____% of my residuary estate (or describe the specific asset to be gifted).”
You can make a bequest to PLF by adding a codicil to your will or an amendment to your living trust.
Then, please let us know so we can thank you as generously as possible and welcome you as a Legacy Partner.
What are the benefits?
Most people look to cash to make a charitable gift. But the truth is, your IRA can be every bit as powerful as a cash gift.
If you are 70 ½ or older, you can elect to transfer up to $108,000 a year out of your IRA to PLF. The transfer must be made directly to PLF from your IRA custodian. The amount transferred counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD).
To make the transfer, contact your IRA custodian and tell them you would like to make a “Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)” to Pacific Legal Foundation, 555 Capitol Mall, Suite 1290 Sacramento, CA 95814.
PLF’s tax ID number is: 94-2197343.
