[Past Event] – The Supreme Court Year in Review

Date: July 21, 2022
Location: AEI, Auditorium 1789 Massachusetts Avenue NW Washington, DC 20036
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EDT

American Enterprise Institute, National Review

Join John Yoo, Ramesh Ponnuru, Jess Bravin, and Elizabeth Slattery on Thursday, July 21, 2022, for a discussion of the term’s biggest and most controversial moments, including—of course—the unprecedented leak of Justice Alito’s draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

We’ll get into the term’s major opinions and what they really mean. Everything is on the table for discussion: We’ll look at how the Court made history with its rulings on abortion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, gun rights in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, climate change in West Virginia v. EPA, and free speech in Kennedy v. Bremerton School District. We’ll also discuss how Justice Breyer’s retirement will shift the Court.

Hosted by Pacific Legal Foundation, National Review, and the American Enterprise Institute, and followed by a reception, this post-term discussion is an opportunity to ask questions and hear takeaways about the controversial 2021-22 Supreme Court term.
