Stephen Hanleigh

Born in postwar London, Steve Hanleigh is the son of an Austrian Jewish refugee whose family business was seized during the 1938 Anschluss and a French mother who aided Allied airmen during World War II. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a degree in economics, Steve began his real estate career in the early 1970s and eventually built a brokerage with 85 agents in the growing San Jose market. His family history and more-than-five-decade career in real estate fostered a deep appreciation for property rights and individual liberty, values that also have driven his longtime support for Pacific Legal Foundation.
