Tonight, on KOGO, am 600 (San Diego’s leading am radio station), PLF Attorney Ralph W. Kasarda will discuss PLF’s challenge to the race- and sex-based quotas that the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) employs in contracts for federally funded road and highway projects.

Kasarda is scheduled to join host Chris Reed, on KOGO’s "Top Story" show – right after the 7:00 p.m., news this evening. Listen at http://www.kogo.com/main.html.

"Caltrans’ contracting quotas don’t just violate the U.S. Constitution’s guarantees of equal protection and equal treatment of all people regardless of skin color, they are an assault on taxpayers because they drive up the cost of Caltrans projects," Kasarda said. "At a time when every tax dollar counts, Caltrans should be going with lowest responsible bid, not awarding contracts based on race or ethnicity."
