The Michigan State Bar will be comemmorating the anniversary of the infamous 1981 Poletown decision tomorrow by dedicating a plaque at the Polish National Alliance Council building in Hamtramck. Speakers will include our friend Alan Ackerman, the attorney who successfully argued for the overturning of that decision in the 2005 case of Wayne County v. Hathcock. PLF (assisted by our friend, attorney Marc Shaye) filed a joint brief along with the ACLU in the Hathcock case, to argue against the abuse of eminent domain that Poletown encouraged.
