Preparing for the McDonald oral argument

By Preparing for the McDonald oral argument

Author: Timothy Sandefur

The U.S. Supreme Court will be hearing arguments on Tuesday in the case of McDonald v. Chicago, a crucial case about constitutional protections for Americans' right to possess firearms. But as I explain in the video below, the decision may end up being equally important for entrepreneurs and business owners.

Monday afternoon, I'll be speaking at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C., about the case's importance and what we might expect to see during the argument. That is open to the public, and you can find more information about that event here.

In the meantime, you can learn more about why this case is so important by downloading my article, Privileges, Immunities, And Substantive Due Process from SSRN.

Update: I've also been asked to address the Congressional Western Republican Caucus on Thursday morning, which is quite an honor. That talk will be on the subject of private property rights–both eminent doain and regulatory takings.
