Schweitzer on Endangered Species Act Section 7 regs

December 08, 2008 | By PACIFIC LEGAL FOUNDATION

Today the Huffington Post's Jeff Schweitzer has a post entitled "Not Home Yet: The Terrible Carnage of Bush's Final Days." Part of this carnage are the proposed Endangered Species Act Section 7 consultation regs, which, according to Schweitzer, demonstrate that President Bush "is silencing the scientists hired specifically to do the job the Administration is now undermining." This is patently false: federal agency scientists will still play a key role under the Section 7 regulations.

Given the overreaction that we've already seen to the Section 7 reg proposals, Schweitzer's unfounded warnings come as no surprise.
