Property Rights

Cameron Westbrook is a Litigation Fellow in the Property Rights practice group at Pacific Legal Foundation, focusing on eminent domain, exactions, and the challenges property owners face in defending their rights.

A native of the New Orleans metro area, Cameron spent years advocating for individual liberties across the country before completing his undergraduate degree and going on to earn his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Inspired by his own family’s experience, as well as a screening of a film about Kelo v. City of New London, he focused early on constitutional protections for property owners. At Denver Law, he led the school’s chapter of The Federalist Society, fostering debate on issues ranging from housing development constraints to qualified immunity, judicial deference doctrines, and the role of the criminal jury. He also served as a staff editor on the Transportation Law Journal, where he concentrated on takings issues and, separately, worked alongside an appraiser specializing in valuations for takings litigation.

In his spare time, Cameron enjoys traveling to filming locations and places made famous in film and television, from the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, to the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul backdrops of Albuquerque, New Mexico, to stumbling upon The Exorcist steps in Georgetown. He is also a Founders Club member at Casa Bonita in Lakewood, Colorado, and is always happy to help fellow liberty enthusiasts secure a hard-to-get reservation.
