David Iglesias is a State Legal Policy manager for Pacific Legal Foundation, where he fights for individual liberties and constitutional rights through policy reforms in state legislatures across the country.
David joined PLF after four and a half years with Libertas Institute, where he served as deputy director of State Government Affairs. He worked extensively on reforms to eliminate barriers facing America’s independent workforce and advance Fourth Amendment-based digital privacy protections against warrantless government surveillance. He also helped launch their Privacy Scholar Network and oversaw the production and publication of two research papers, including one authored by a former PLF attorney.
David often describes his journey into public policy as a wild series of events that began while living in Mexico during the 2016 U.S. presidential election and culminated during the COVID-19-era lockdowns, when he was studying economics at Loyola University New Orleans. Those experiences helped shape his belief in individual liberty and the need to hold government accountable when it violates constitutional rights.
When he’s not on the road, David can be found in his home state of Utah working on music, experimenting with new recipes, or cruising around on his motorcycle—anything to live up to his role as the “cool uncle” to his nephews.
