Emily Balon is a Media Relations manager at Pacific Legal Foundation, where she advances the cause of individual liberty through strategic communications and targeted media outreach. In her role, she shapes narratives that bring PLF’s constitutional litigation and policy work to national audiences to demonstrate the real-world impact of the organization’s mission.
Emily is passionate about making individual liberty accessible and relevant to everyday Americans. She specializes in translating complex constitutional and economic issues into compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Her work helps the public understand why constitutional limits on government power aren’t abstract legal concepts, but rather vital protections that matter in their daily lives, whether they’re starting a business, educating their children, or simply trying to use their own property.
Before joining Pacific Legal Foundation, Emily honed her media relations expertise at the Cato Institute, where she developed strategies to amplify public policy research and commentary across traditional and digital media platforms.
Emily grew up in Fauquier County, Virginia, and holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science from Clemson University. She now resides in Rockville, Maryland, with her husband, Mark. She enjoys watching college football, teaching herself new crafting methods like needlepoint and crochet, and spending time on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
