Mitchell Scacchi

Strategic research manager |

Mitchell Scacchi is the strategic research manager for the separation of powers at Pacific Legal Foundation. Through original research, Mitchell seeks to demonstrate how the U.S. Constitution’s separation of powers is the most fundamental safeguard of Americans’ individual rights and liberties, using data and analysis to show how violations of the former lead to infringements on the latter.

Before PLF, Mitchell was a policy analyst for the Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy, New Hampshire’s free market think tank, where he conducted policy research related to education, housing, regulatory, and economic policy in the state. Prior to that, he was a research associate at the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. He believes strongly in using research as a tool to clearly communicate complex topics to all audiences.

A self-described “nerd for the Constitution,” dating back to his days reading The Federalist Papers in high school, Mitchell earned his BA and MA in political science from the University of New Hampshire. When he is not researching separation of powers issues, Mitchell can be found reading, going for walks through downtown Concord, New Hampshire, watching the Miami Dolphins, or playing with his French bulldog.
