Tanmay Shukla is an attorney in Pacific Legal Foundation’s Property Rights practice, where he challenges government actions that strip ordinary people of their homes and businesses, often representing their life savings and livelihood.
Before joining PLF, he served as a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the court with jurisdiction over most takings claims against the federal government. He earned his JD from Harvard Law School and holds a master’s degree in economics from Boston University.
Tanmay’s interest in PLF’s mission grew out of his early land use work in Chicago, where he saw how governments have an inherent tendency to push constitutional boundaries as much as possible. At PLF, Tanmay works to ensure that governments turn square corners in their dealings with the people.
Outside of work, Tanmay can often be found reading urban history or playing racquet sports.
