Supreme Court issues Fisher opinion

The decision in Fisher has finally arrived.  In short the Supreme Court held that the Fifth Circuit (when it upheld the University of Texas at Austin’s racial preference policies admissions) did not hold the university to the demanding burden of strict scrutiny.  The decision was 7-1, written by Justice Kennedy with Justice Ginsburg dissenting.  You can read the opinion here.
