California hair stylists and barbers should be allowed to work outside

July 16, 2020 | By DANIEL ORTNER
Today the Pacific Legal Foundation sent a letter to California Governor Gavin Newsom and the Board of Barbers and Cosmetology urging them to allow barbers, hair salons, and other personal care services to offer their services outdoors. Governor Newsom recently announced that these businesses would be required to halt indoor services once again throughout most of the state due to COVID-19. Being able to offer outdoor services will help mitigate at least some of the harm that these small businesses will suffer from being shut down again for the second time since March. These businesses should be allowed to offer services outdoors just as many other businesses have been allowed to do in response to COVID-19.
