American Heroes: A Special America 250 Edition

Since launching last fall, American Heroes has introduced listeners to Pacific Legal Foundation clients who have stood up to unlawful government overreach. This month, in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, we took a different approach.

Instead of featuring one client, host Kathy Hoekstra sat down with attorneys who lead PLF’s four litigation practice groups to discuss the enduring principles of the Declaration of Independence—and how those ideals continue to shape their work every day.

Joshua Thompson explored the meaning of equality before the law and why every person deserves to be treated as an individual. Robert Thomas reflected on the Declaration’s vision of limited government and the importance of protecting property rights. Mark Miller explained why America’s natural resources should be responsibly used and stewarded, not locked away through unnecessary government regulation. And Steve Simpson discussed how the Constitution’s separation of powers remains one of the nation’s strongest protections against government overreach.

As America celebrates its 250th birthday, this special episode looks beyond individual cases to the founding principles that continue to guide PLF’s work defending individual liberty.
